Job Description Summary

This position will lead and drive innovation in Lamb Weston’s manufacturing process equipment, with a primary focus on the development of cutting systems and additional support for other process technologies. The role is responsible for spearheading projects to design, build, and test prototypes, followed by scaling successful innovations to commercial production. Key responsibilities include:• Leading the end-to-end development of innovative manufacturing process equipment, particularly cutting systems, to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Designing, constructing, and testing prototypes to validate new technologies and processes.
• Scaling prototype solutions to commercial production, ensuring seamless integration at Lamb Weston or co-manufacturer facilities.
• Providing subject matter expertise to support plants and other teams across the company, offering technical guidance on process equipment and innovation projects.
• Collaborating with the Process Innovation and broader Innovation teams to align projects with company goals.
• Supporting research and development-style engineering projects to advance other manufacturing processes as needed.

Job Description
- Drives innovation in manufacturing process equipment, with a primary focus on developing advanced cutting systems to position Lamb Weston as the world’s leading potato company.
- Leads projects to design, build, and test prototypes for new processing technologies, ensuring alignment with company innovation goals.
- Scales successful prototype solutions to commercial production, coordinating seamless integration at Lamb Weston or co-manufacturer facilities.
- Provides subject matter expertise to plants and cross-functional teams, offering technical guidance on cutting systems and other manufacturing processes.
- Fosters a collaborative, team-based problem-solving approach to address technical challenges and optimize project outcomes.
- Supports the Process Innovation and broader Innovation teams in research and development-style engineering projects to advance manufacturing capabilities.
- Works with the Innovation team to develop new products and bring them to market, ensuring alignment with manufacturing capabilities and commercial goals.
- Works to identify opportunities for improvement in manufacturing processes, enhancing efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Utilizes relevant software tools, such as CAD systems, SAP, and Microsoft Office, to support design, analysis, and project management tasks.
- Demonstrates executive maturity through effective decision-making and communication with various departments to ensure efficient use of project resources.
- Ensures safety standards are upheld, contributing to the goal of World Class Safety and Zero Incidents for all associates.
- Supports quality and food safety initiatives to achieve goals of Zero Foreign Material in manufacturing processes.
- Maintains up-to-date technical documentation, including design specifications and project records, to support project execution and compliance.
- Collaborates with project stakeholders to develop scope, schedule, and budget documents for innovation projects.
- Verifies that installed equipment and materials align with approved designs and specifications, ensuring quality assurance and control.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
Skills and Experience:
- Five years’ experience in Manufacturing, Food Manufacturing preferred.
- Five years experience in machine or equipment design.
- Strong 3D and 2D CAD skills. (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Leadership skills to work as a peer and advisor to other departments.
- Ability to rotate shifts and work weekends and holidays when required.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; Computer applications skills.

Physical Environment/Demands:
- Ability to travel up to 25% is required.
- Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
- Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
- Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per work day to include:Â loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergiesÂ
- Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
- Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
- Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Valid Driver’s License and driving record that meets Lamb Weston Driving Standards

Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $101,730.00 - $152,600.00              Â
