Job Description Summary

               

This position is a memeber of the milking team that works collaboratively to produce a high-quality product. This position may fill in temporarily as the Lead Milker in case of need. Position reports to the Lead Milker.

Job Description

• Assists in checks in the set-up of milking equipment for leaks and other potential issues. 
• Make sure that standard operating procedures (SOP’s) are being followed.
• Be present and ready to work on scheduled days and time
• Notify Lead Milker of sick animals.
• Report any malfunction of milking equipment, hoses, washers and dryers directly to Lead Milker.
• Report any problems to Lead Milker.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skill.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
• Report all unsafe activities to Supervisor and/or Human Resources.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Maintain good communication with all departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

• 1 to 3 months working experience or working with livestock, agriculture
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Operating farm/dairy machinery a plus

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $18.30 - $22.38
