Job Description Summary

               

The Food Safety Lead’s position primary responsibilities are to support the maintenance and effectiveness of the Food Safety, Sanitation, GMP and Quality Systems for the plant. This support will include performing related tasks, compiling and organizing data, verifications, communication and training.

Job Description

· Perform inspections of equipment to look for potential FM, Food Safety and Sanitation risks.

· Compile Corrective Action lists and coordinate activities relating to completions of inspection activities.

· Compile quality/food safety data into periodic reports.

· Review quality/food safety data for accuracy and completeness.

· Conduct/assist with training of employees related to quality/food safety procedures and programs.

· Perform line break and pre-op inspections for verification of line conditions before production.

· Perform various food safety, sanitation, GMP and PPE compliance audits. Ensure proper documentation.

· Participate and contribute to quality/food safety initiatives as well as related plant compliance audits such as the internal BRC audit.

· Conduct health checks, audits and verification activities for CCP, Preventative Control and Prerequisite programs including CILs and defect handling.

· Support and lead Food Safety programs in surveillance of Sanitation Effectiveness, Allergen Control, and Environmental Monitoring Programs.

· Coordinate and participate in deep cleaning activities such as Planned Stops, AMD and other veLOCity programs.

· Be an active member of the Food Safety and Quality Pillar.

· Participate in company and external trainings to gain further knowledge of subject matter.

· Perform other duties as assigned by Food Safety and Quality managers or Team Leader of Sanitation.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

· Must be able to communicate, comprehend, and follow instructions in English (both written and oral).

· Prior experience in PQ Tech, Processing Technician, Packaging Technician or Lead preferred.

· Must possess ability to work independently and within a team environment

· Must possess ability to collect, research and interpret information and use experience and intuition to analyze situations and report data

· Must have ability to proficiently navigate and use Company programs such as Manifest, Sharepoint and related Quality and Food Safety programs. Should have the ability to perform basic operations in Word, Excel and Outlook.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $25.44
