Job Description Summary
              Â
The Associate AP Specialist will partner in process development, policy drafting, and daily execution of accounts payable activities with business partners and suppliers. The Associate AP Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving process automation to best support AP’s customer base.The Associate AP Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely payment of invoices from approved suppliers, in a manner consistent with approved quality standards and performance requirements. The AP Specialist may also be required to support the development of the AP function to advance department or organizational goals, objectives, and interests. Finally, the Associate AP Specialist is also responsible for the day-to-day resolution of stakeholder and supplier issues.
Job Description
Incorporate AP / Finance principles into daily work activities
Gather necessary information to complete AP requirements, support contracting, support supplier implementation, and support master data management activities as requiredÂ
Manage assigned items in accordance with approved AP / Finance programs using the established policiesÂ
Process variable volume of invoices for paymentÂ
Validate invoices with purchase ordersÂ
Ensure payments are processed on time and accurately to suppliersÂ
Research and resolve any invoice discrepancies in an effective and timely mannerÂ
Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactionsÂ
Prepare Journal Entries as part of the month end closingÂ
Provide accurate records management relative to the AP function in accordance with policiesÂ
Assist with additional projects at manager's directionÂ
Document and resolve supplier quality and performance problems using KPI’s, by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrenceÂ
Assist in identification and implementation of cost improvement projects  Â
Assist plant procurement and plant stakeholders with finance related issuesÂ
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent related experience or trainingÂ
0-2 years’ experience in Finance, Accounts Payable or related fieldÂ
AP Specialist II: 2-4 years’ experience in Finance, Accounts Payable or related fieldÂ
Ability to leverage computer software programs, specifically SAP or a comparable ERP solution, in addition to office productivity toolsÂ
Ability to manage multiple priorities or projectsÂ
Ability to influence management and build teamsÂ
Ability to work independently and as a team player, be organized, and plan aheadÂ
Ability to maintain, develop, and execute departmental visionÂ
Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skillsÂ
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to read, write and speak in English required. Bilingual/Multilingual skills desirable
